A triple wavelength diode laser device combines 808 nm, 755 nm, and 1064 nm wavelengths into one unit. The operating principle of the triple wavelength diode laser is mainly based on selective photothermolysis. In actual function, the laser light of specific wavelengths (808/755/1064 nm) is emitted and precisely targets hair follicle tissues at different depths.

How Does A Triple Wavelength Diode Laser Compare To Single Or Dual Wavelength Models?

Compared to single-wavelength or double-wavelength laser devices, triple wavelength diode lasers have broader and more precise coverage of skin layers. This means you do not need to increase the energy level to treat different areas during the operation. This also effectively prevents local skin burns caused by excessive energy.

In terms of operating mode, single or dual-wavelength laser hair removal devices may require the operator to switch between different devices,  so that they can remove hair at different depths or for different hair densities. Triple Wavelength Diode Laser Vs IPL, What Are The Differences?

IPL treatment is a method that uses intense pulsed light to target hair follicles; the medium it employs is entirely different from that of diode lasers.

Take laser treatment devices as an example, when they are operating, a xenon lamp converts electrical energy into light energy, and causes a laser crystal to emit a laser beam that targets the hair follicles.

However, the xenon lamp in IPL devices directly emits broad-spectrum pulsed light. Then, the light will be filtered through a filter plate before being directed at the hair follicles, to achieve various treatment objectives.

Compared to laser devices, IPL does not involve the step of exciting a laser crystal after light emission, and its energy is more dispersed. Additionally, it poses a higher risk for people with darker skin tones.
