The 1064 nm near-infrared wavelength offers deep penetration, reaching the dermis. It has the highest absorption rate for melanin and is specifically designed to treat deep-seated pigmentation such as black, blue, and gray tattoos, Nevus of Ota, and melasma. The 532nm green visible light has shallow penetration, remaining in the epidermis and the superficial layers of the dermis. It is highly absorbed by hemoglobin and reddish-brown pigments, making it suited for red tattoos, pink permanent makeup, freckles, sunspots, and telangiectasia. Both wavelengths operate in Q-switched mode; nanosecond-level pulse widths generate a photoacoustic effect, mechanically shattering pigment particles rather than burning them with heat, minimizing thermal damage to normal skin.

This treatment is strictly contraindicated for pregnant women; it is also not safe for patients with heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or coagulation disorders. Treatment should not be performed on areas with open wounds, active infections, or inflamed skin. If any photosensitizing medications, such as certain antibiotics, isotretinoin, or Chinese herbal medicines containing photosensitizing ingredients, have been taken within the past month, treatment must be postponed. Skin that has recently been exposed to intense sunlight and is still peeling or red must also wait until it has fully recovered; otherwise, it may trigger hyperpigmentation or even burns. In short, treatment is safe only when the skin barrier is intact, and the patient’s physical condition is stable.

The cleaning process is simple, but there are a few details that cannot be overlooked. After completely disconnecting the main unit from the power source, wipe down the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Ensure no liquid seeps into the gaps in the casing; pouring even a single cup of water onto it could immediately burn out the circuitry. After treating each client, use an alcohol swab to wipe down the grip area and the emission button on the handpiece to prevent cross-contamination. The lens of the light-emitting window is critical. Inspect it after each shift; if there is dust or light oil residue, gently wipe it with lens cleaning paper. If scratches appear, replace the corresponding spot head immediately; do not make do with a damaged one, as energy output attenuation and scattering will directly affect treatment results. The distilled water or purified water in the reservoir should be completely replaced at least once every 4 weeks.

Operators and customers must wear genuine laser safety goggles rated for the corresponding wavelength at all times; the handpiece must never be pointed at anyone’s eyes. Before treatment, remove all reflective objects from the room. Remove all jewelry, mirrors, and metal trays; even mirrored wall decorations must be covered. Before turning on the machine, ensure the water tank is filled with distilled water. Forcing the machine to start without water circulation will instantly burn out the laser cavity. The red emergency stop knob must remain unobstructed and accessible at all times. Keep portable RF devices such as cell phones and walkie-talkies at least 30 cm away from the machine and all cables to prevent electromagnetic interference from causing unstable laser emission.
